Process Engineering
Our Process engineers play a vital role at all stages of our world-class projects and operations. They help set the strategy and their expertise informs the key technical decisions that contribute to the success of projects and operations. Process engineers enjoy a variety of career paths. You could lead the discipline study purely at the conceptual stage, apply emerging technologies, or become a key member of our production teams.
To join them, you will hold at least a Bachelors Degree in Chemical, Process or Petroleum Engineering with a minimum GPA of 3.25 in a 4.0 scale. Of course, academic excellence alone will not bring you to a success here: you must also have a real passion for performing and learning, to enjoy working within a team and to pride yourself on delivering results.
Electrical Power Engineering
It is essential that we maximize the value of a plant or a process. Our Instrument, Control & Electrical Electrical power engineers in BP lead the development of the strategy, design, implementation and maintenance of electrical power systems to required specifications. The focus is on safety and reliability to power the businesses. You will be responsible for delivering technical integrity for major offshore and onshore facilities throughout the asset’s life cycle.
In order to be considered for a place on our graduate program, your strong academic record will need to be backed by your enthusiasm, desire to learn new skills, and willingness to thrive as part of a team. Specifically, you will need to have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Power Engineering with a GPA of at least 3.25 in a 4.0 scale.
Mechanical Engineering
Thanks to the hard work and competence of our Mechanical Engineers. We are able to optimize our assets of the future, be they offshore deepwater platforms, innovative new pipelines, or onshore terminals. We pride ourselves on upholding the very highest standards of mechanical integrity. Join us in these roles, and you will, too.
So what will it take to join this team? You will need at least a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant discipline with a minimum GPA of 3.25 in a 4.0 scale. Academic excellence is only part of the story. We expect you to have a passion for learning new things, to enjoy teamwork and to be motivated to deliver results.
Procurement Supply Chain Management (PSCM)
Procurement and Supply Chain Management (PSCM) is the process by which BP purchases goods and services from the external marketplace with the aim of maximizing value to the business.
PSCM ensures that we always have the right product, from the right supplier, at the right time and at the right price. This covers everything from office stationery to the stock in our convenience stores and the equipment to construct and operate an oil rig. PSCM encompasses Market Strategy, Materials Management, Strategic Sourcing, Purchase to Pay systems (P2P), Supplier Management and Contracting & Compliance.
BP spends around $40 billion on non-hydrocarbon goods and services each year so managing this spend effectively is core to the company’s success.
To develop your personal & professional capabilities within Procurement & Supply Chain Management (PSCM) team you will need to have at least a Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum GPA of 3.25 from the following Engineering disciplines: Industrial, Chemical, Petroleum, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil/Structural.
Geoscience
Geoscience is one of the core skills that are widely sought after in the industry. At BP, you’ll join our Geoscientists and be heavily involved in everything from exploration and appraisal, development to production for both conventional and unconventional gas (Coal Bed Methane).
Building hands-on experience and skills with each step of every project, you will soon be adept at assessing hydrocarbon potential, planning, acquiring, processing and evaluating seismic, well and rock data. Your base for this will be a strong academic record (GPA of at least 3.25 in a 4.0 scale) in geoscience, geophysics, geology, earth sciences or physics.
Petroleum and Reservoir Engineering
From exploration to production, our Petroleum and Reservoir Engineers play a crucial role in BP’s field operation success. For the past 15 years, BP has identified more new reserves of oil and gas per year than have been produced, so we’re now keen to push technological boundaries to balance the excellent discovery track record with improved hydrocarbon recovery. As a Reservoir or Petroleum Engineer, you will be essential to ensure we do just that.
As a reservoir engineer, you will focus on understanding the state of hydrocarbon fluids in the rock and how they can be economically recovered through well placement and improved recovery techniques. As a petroleum engineer, you will use surveillance data from various sources to plan and carry out interventions in the wells, to maintain or enhance production of hydrocarbons throughout the life of the field. A strong academic record (GPA of at least 3.25 in a 4.0 scale) in chemical engineering, petroleum engineering, earth sciences, mathematics, or related subjects in addition to your drive for continuous improvement is essential.
Finance
Finance within BP is accountable for accounting, reporting & control, planning and performance management, commercial operations, and business development.
What does it take? You will need to have a strong academic record, Bachelor degree or Masters degree in Finance/Accounting/Economics from a fully accredited university, a minimum GPA of 3.25 in a 4.0 scale and want to make a difference through your work by applying your expertise, creativity and commercial acumen.
